Sloping Off is a witty and irreverent account of the endeavours of a mild-mannered bloke who isn’t from Birmingham, neither the one in the UK or the one in Alabama, to overcome his gigantism and spend a season working in the mountains, in between having a series of massive accidents on his snowboard.
There may also be an element of arsing around prior to the journey to the Alps in November ’09 as the author rather prematurely, and most would say foolishly, quit his job in the midst of a magnificently severe global recession in January ’09. The big tit.
Writing this page in the third person helps him to negate the nagging feeling that he may have got himself into a bit of a pickle. And it’ll save the press a job when they come to write the blurb for the subsequent book and film.
Thank you for reading.
P.S – If you know of any job vacancies that need filling until November, please let me know. I will consider anything. I am not a proud man.
